David
likely wrote this Psalm before he was king. He was being hunted by a jealous
King Saul and his men. Notice that in verse 1 David was unafraid, in verse 3
David was confident, and in verse 14 he took heart and was strong in the Lord!
David resolved to sing praises
to God, pray, wait on God, and (vs. 11) remain teachable before
God. What an incredible heart David displayed! This is not always easy to
achieve. No wonder the Bible said of David that he was a man after God’s own
heart. He knew God’s way was the way to go.
You might be facing some
mysteries today, but I know God can help you come to grips with them. Keep
looking to Him! No matter its cause, the mountain of intimidation will have to
melt away as you look more closely to the One who made you and loves you
unconditionally! Be open to His leading, His teaching, His answers, and His
miracles in your life. God can calm the raging voices and settle fiery
attitudes that seem to unleash their fury against you. David obviously had some
boundaries - he stayed away from King Saul - but he had grand trust that God
would honor and help him. God can give perspective today for every situation
you face. Give it to Him and see His work in your life!
