If you’ve ever found yourself in a situation where you needed help, chances are you tried to call someone who you thought could assist. Maybe it was a family member, a friend, or someone completely different. Whoever that person was, hopefully, they were able to help, but have you ever had a moment where the phone just rang and rang, and no one picked up? That can be super disappointing and frustrating, right? Especially if you tried calling more than once, a significant amount of time has passed, and you didn't even get a callback.
In Psalm, Chapter 17, we find David in a place where he needs some help. His enemies are closing in, and he knows this situation is too much to handle on his own. David may not have picked up his cell phone and called whoever was nearby, but he called on someone he knew would answer. Psalm 17:6-7 shows us David's confidence in God: “I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer. Show me the wonders of your great love.” David has seen God show up before and knows that He is ready to show up again in this time of need!
My prayer is that in our times of weakness, sadness, frustration, and everything in between, we would turn to the God who hears us when we call. God has shown up before and is ready to show up again. I encourage you to call on God!
